About

We are a non-profit community school (Art 4 Youth CIC, company number 10836303) whose mission is to deliver quality art education to the children of Norfolk.
Art education has been sidelined and cut from the national curriculum, overlooking substantial skills required for important jobs that sustain our community and improve society. That's why we focus on protecting a child's most important years of development – ages 7 to 16 – by catering to their needs, abilities, and interests through our Fine Arts programme.
Our aim is to ensure all children receive an equal opportunity to learn and pursue a creative path. That is why we offer our courses for free to children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
We are committed to constantly seeking out new ways to allow more children to join our classes whilst keeping the costs low; therefore, any support is hugely appreciated.
Get Involved
There are numerous ways to get involved and improve the life chances of our young creatives.
-
Corporate Support: We are a great project to think about if your company wants to comply with a Community Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), or Community Investment policy.
-
Fundraising: If you're trying to find a nonprofit that you can assist with fundraising efforts and activities.
-
Volunteering: Join us as a volunteer if you want to work with children and assist us in running classes.
-
Donations: We would appreciate any unused art supplies you may have.
Sponsor a child's creative path

We couldn't provide our vital services without the people who support us. Every donation we receive will change the aspirations of our young artists and will have a huge impact on their future lives.

The long-term assistance we offer includes assembling an extensive collection for pursuing further studies and higher education.
All our courses are art portfolio supported, and we offer specific GCSE, A-Level and art exam classes catered to individual needs to better support them in this crucial stage of their education.
Every student is supplied with high-quality materials and equipment. Every teacher at our school is a practising local artist, working well with children and young people, and every assistant as well, having all undergone an enhanced DBS check.

As part of our education program the students benefit from assembling an extensive portfolio suitable for further and higher education.
Everything we do is thoughtfully shaped around a child's needs and full-time education to complement it, not complicate it.
One of our core aims is to connect with local mainstream schools to improve Ofsted results by boosting their students’ performance in Art & Design GCSC exams.

The arts have officially been side-lined in the national curriculum and also in the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). This decision was made despite the rising contribution from creative industries to the UK economy (in the billions) and despite the effort of art education to help communicate complex concepts through a different learning approach.
Parents and teachers have now been told that creative skills can be acquired elsewhere in a young person’s education, and that is what we are doing, creating that space.

Since we cut the ribbon in February 2017, Art 4 Youth Norwich art school has welcomed many faces from the local Norfolk community, all sharing our passion for the arts.
