About the Course
WATERCOLOUR WORLDS
Learn the basics of painting with watercolour and create beautiful scenes and characters in this 6-week course.
Students will develop painting skills, learn techniques, and have fun with watercolour, by following step-by-step demonstrations of how to create beautiful background artwork and illustrations, exploring a different theme each week: from underwater worlds, to magical forests!
There will be a particular focus on exploring the style and use of watercolour for background art in animation and game design, such as Disney and the Irish Animation Studio, Cartoon Saloon.
Each class is crafted to support artistic development through informative presentations discussing each topic with reference to classic and contemporary artists, recorded demonstrations from the tutor, and opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback.
This is an online course, taking place over Zoom.
In addition to the live session, students will receive a PDF copy of the presentation discussed, and fun assignments to complete after each class.
Materials required (general list): watercolour paper, brushes, watercolours, pencils, masking/washi tape and a hairdryer.
Specific downloadable resources and equipment lists will be provided via email prior to each class.
