About the Course

Witchcraft and Wizardry through observational drawing

 

In this course, students will experiment and dabble in the creative arts to develop their fundamental illustrative art skills through the traditional practice of observational still life drawing leading on to creation of imaginary characters and story telling.


From an intriguing display of the wizarding kind, including owls, potions and spell books, students will explore various methods and tools to create drawings with strong form and depth, and work towards the creation of a final piece that is truly magical!


Each class will be contextualised with the observational studies of classical Artists such as, DaVinci, Rembrandt, and Morandi. 

The key skills gained from observational drawing is highly sought after and used in contemporary creative industries, particularly within illustration and animation.

Students will also be introduced to the studies and work of Disney and Pixar Artists who use the fundamentals of still life drawing to create incredible prop designs that are essential to bringing fictional worlds to life! 


Our Set Courses begin the first week of school term and each session lasts for 1 hour, held in small groups of 10 students.

Classes run weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and synchronised with Norfolk County Council school term dates.

Please note; we do not have a half-term breaks - our classes run weekly as usual.


Each set course covers a separate aspect of  Fine Art, and offers a detailed understanding, hands on practice in accordance with the program. The sessions are interconnected, leading to a final outcome.

All professional materials and equipment are provided.


Classes run from 17.00 to 18.30 PM for 7-11 years old

Classes run from 18.30 to 20.00 PM for 12-16 years old

Running every each week starting;

Tuesdays 13th January to 24th March

Thursdays 15th January to 26th March

- with no half-term breaks -

Free for children of financially disadvantaged backgrounds, this includes all material needed.
